Is there any way to add seals to the panels themselves, to make them waterproof? I've looked into in-roof solar for this but it's a bit expensive for just a carport or shelter.

Solar ground mounts are so expensive and some roofs are not good for solar panels. I have been looking at cheap aluminum pergolas on Aliexpress and wondering if any of these are sturdy enough to be reinforced for use as a solar pergola. Has anyone tried it yet?

FINALLY companies are getting the message that NOT every roof can take solar panels on it. And yet 99.9% of all solar energy companies are still fixated on the blasted roof designs.

The one you show as a bad example was built with scrap wood and 3kw in used panels (in my area 395 watt panels are $165) so for about 1, 000 bucks he has 3kw of clean energy. It ain't pretty tho.... and that assumes he already has an inverter of some sort. Overall good video thanks for the insights!

A building, in thg h we'd final analysis is an insurance company regulated asset, not a big tax base thing, more about rights versus undefined possibilities over time spans. Rule of thumb- no entry door, not a building.
