I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

Thinking about retirement scares me.I apologize to everyone who is retired and filing social security after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you weren't to blame for.it's especially difficult for people who are retired.

Beware of these extremely vague references to retire on "as little as $2000 a month". I know for a fact that Malaysia requires a significant cash deposit in to one of their banks in addition to the monthly income requirement to get a Visa. So that raises the price to move there significantly and probably should have been at least mentioned. So I'm wondering what other extremely relevant information about the other countries was left out? This video is not much more than clickbait.

I think the retirement crisis will get even worse. A lot of people can’t save because of low paying jobs, inflation, and insane rental rates. And now that home ownership is out of reach for middle class Americans, they won’t have a house to retire with either.

Retire in Panama

If you are planning to retire in Panama we can help with Panama Residency Visa. Typical processing time is 6 months. We have an expedited service that takes 6 weeks or less.

I'm pondering retirement. Going to be 57 soon and already financially independent plus I work 100% remote. Considering a lot of those countries.

How are Mexico and Colombia safe places to live? I hear all the time about gangs in those places and murders and kidnappings and break-ins. How are these places ranking up?

I have been in Ecuador since late December. I have enjoyed Quito, Otavalo (day trip to cotacachi), Banos, Cuenca, and now Loja. Every city has been distinct, coupled with the mountain weather, very pleasant for my daily strolls.

The big problem here is the requirements on each of these countries to qualify for either a temp or permanent residencia card.

What I need to know are the best countries for healthcare and the disabled. I had a sudden spinal injury and have to use a rolling walker to walk short distances or an electric scooter for longer distances. My husband is a diabetic. Handicapped friendly streets with ramps, handicapped friendly public transportation, and excellent health care for our retirement, as well as safety are the most important things to us.

Jen, You people produce a great product. I look forward to seeing all of you again at the conference in Las Vegas. This will be my second retirement conference. I would like to write more, but what's the point. You have integrity.

Malaysia is underrated!!!! You guys got it right by including it in your Top 10 but I am surprised it does not consistently make the list. That's fine, less competition for me!!!!

I don't think your list takes into account the most important aspects for those who are retired and would like to live long term somewhere other than the US. Hint - taxes are most important for those on a budget (with healthcare and safety coming in 2nd and 3rd). Most normal people can't afford to be taxed in Portugal so that should NOT be rated as high as it is on your list. I would love to move to Portugal but can't afford the taxes.

I'm a bit frustrated with my IL membership. For the past 2 years I have paid for the membership, but it seems every email article has a run-on of potential places to retire for less, but they do not tell you directly the name of the country or, even better, cities. Then after a lengthy read they redirect you to something else to pay for, such as a workshop or conference. I am not wealthy enough to have a house in the US and have a house in another country. At this point I could watch random YouTube videos and get more direct information. Please elaborate with more information on Visas and financial requirements for each country and please name them in the email articles. Also, specific regions or towns would help be immensely helpful!
