When to replace your Trackhawk supercharger belt

i think I dodged a bullet. So how often should we be replacing these belts so they don't snap or fray? I know... the hood prop... I wonder why they took it out?

Does that green belt make more power ? I always see track hawk builds with the green belt. But I think they call it lower pully or something
