World Economic Forum: Greta Thunberg says 'nothing has been done' to fight climate change
Показать описание
The 50th World Economic Forum has kicked off in Davos, amid climate change protests that began on Jan 19. Protesters are urging some 3,000 world and business leaders to prioritise environmental concerns. This comes as an annual risks survey by the World Economic Forum (WEF) found for the first time that the top five long-term risks were all environmental. The summit will run until Jan 24, with the spotlight expected to be on trade wars, record debt levels and tensions in the Middle East. Meanwhile, in his keynote address, US President Donald Trump boasted about an economic boom in the US, and announced that negotiations with China on a phase two trade deal will begin shortly.
