DJI SPARK CRASH! Footage & How You Can Avoid it.

My first flight in Ecuador ended as a failure... I crashed my DJI SPARK in to a brick wall. Here's my thoughts on the whole incident and how you can avoid it...

Good on you, owning up *and* sharing how to avoid mistakes!!!

I have had that the RC "freak out" issue twice. what I discovered in desperation, was that you can force power off the RC by holding down Pause and Power for a few seconds. In my case, both times, powering the RC on again resolved the issue. This is the scariest thing I've experienced with it; don't like being completely out of control!!

Glad it didn't sustain much damage!! I hate crashing!! Of course just started flying drones about a month ago, and cheap ones at that!! I have a Promark P70-CW Warrior and it flies well for me and then I bought a used SYMA X5SW just so I can learn to fly. Figured if I crashed and burned with it I was only out a few bucks compared to $100 that I spent on the Warrior!! Looking forward to your other videos.

My Spark lost connection, tried to land where it was and crashed on some rocks this weekend. Fortunately no damage to the Spark, just some cracked props. And the problem with the RC not connecting and not even shutting down anymore accured to a friend of mine on the same day. Don't know what's up with all these connection issues, but DJI has to improve their firmware fast.

The magnetic issues may be due to the elements in the ground itself. You don't need to be near power lines or tech to have issues with magnetic fields.

Definitely been there in crashing my drone. I have a hubsan x4 pro. I totally agree not to rush. I have a scare on my forearm cause of it.

Magnetic interference is a bit of a mystery to me. Have you found metal roofs to be an issue? I'm hoping to do some real estate shots in Costa Rica but the abundance of metal roofing, metal fencing and above ground poorly insulated electrical wires seems to creat alot of magnetic issues in modestly populated costal towns.

Im a geologist and im curious if there was magnetite around. When we work in the field we have to be careful having our compasses around metallic minerals because itll mess things up. Just a thought.

I had crashed my drone today and it fell from 300 feet, I have no idea why it happened but thank god it still works seemingly perfect but I still terrified to fly it now

I am pretty sure a volcano provides a lot of magnetic interference, maybe seems far fetched but very possible. Just do not try to fly over the Bermuda Triangle ;) lol.

Thanks, a lot of respect for you. Being honest and giving great advise. You could have easily blamed the Spark ⚡️ and DJI which is most peoples first reaction.
I’m more like you, carefully analyzing the scenario, much like a drones pov, from every angle.:) then fine-tuning my steps to achieve the best results.

my spark lost connection about 50ft out at the beach. luckily it connected again and landed safely. kinda freaked out a little.

Have you ever had to fix any corrupted files from you drone.? They are there when you transfer to your computer but corrupted.
