"I am only allowed the lightest touch, I can compose and shoot without hesitation or interruption and anything more than that ruins it"

This is a short piece about Street Photography, why street photography is so special, and why Cebu, Philippines is such a special place for it. I recently spent some time in Moalboal Cebu, spending time doing documentary photography for a fine art photography project I have in the works. I used my Fujifilm x100v to shoot all the photos featured, with fuji recipes to assist me in the edit.

Many more photos are available on my instagram:

PHOTOS EDITED USING MY OWN PRIVATE LIGHTROOM PRESETS.
If you think they're worth selling then I might set something up.

Film footage is emulated.

This is fascinating. It's been amazing watching you learn and grow in your art, and I'm so grateful that you let us be part of that.

Living in the Philippines, I gotta say it is an underrated country, but once you get to know the place just by searching it on the internet and be familiar with how kind people are, it's an interesting place to visit/live in.

Its uncommon for me to find a foreigner who film, not only the beautiful parts of my country, but as well as the realistic parts of it. Philippines may be pretty with nature and its resources, but there's also the streets, the small houses, the basketball court godssXD as well as the look on people's faces and children. It makes the whole thing realistic and human and am glad you're showing that aspect of the Philippines to the world. Because not only it is pretty, but its also real.

I never thought I was a deeply creative person. Never considered myself all that capable of art.

My perspective is shifting somewhat this year. I picked up a camera for the first time and began shooting what I saw on the street in the UK where my wife and I moved.

Brief moments of meeting people, of spotting good light, of the movement of the city are lost on normal days. I don’t pay attention to them usually. Picking up a camera is changing that. I’m seeing so much more as I slow down and just pay attention.

Love your work. You’ve been deeply inspiring to me this year as you’ve worked with honesty and integrity through burn out. Thank you.

As a Filipina, I appreciate this video
People mention the Philippines a lot in their videos and picure only the pretty side of the country (A.K.A beaches only), but part of me wants to say that they don't know Philippines if they never truly experience it.
You have so much talent sir! ❤️❤️❤️

This is why photography is so engaging. You get to freeze time, experience the feelings the image portrays and many more, with a click of a button. Its the freedom, and this video shows it all. Thanks mumbo.

For anyone wondering "Street Photography", means taking a picture of someone without their knowledge or of just them doing a random thing.

I have to say that feelings and moments in your photos tell such amazing stories. I'm being 100% honest when i say your photos convey that genuine feeling.

I've listened to this at least 5 times now and I love to just sit there and imagine this monologue with any other topic- illustrating vs. painting, scripting vs. improv, gardening vs. flower arranging. There are so many spectrums of art, each with their own unique ups and downs that make you feel so... Captured by the process, especially when you're used to doing something just one way and suddenly have to get used to this brand new way of thinking to produce the same quality as before. This is why I love talking with other artists about their style and how they view it. Like, people tell me I have an eye for color and I never noticed before, but when I tell them their anatomy is admirable they shrug it off. We're so used to our mundane perspective of our art, that recreating it via a different method is world changing some times.

Been abroad for over 10 years now. Somehow, my memories of growing up in Luzon have a sort of sepia filter over 'em, so I was genuinely surprised to be reminded how vibrant my home country is! Thanks, Mumbo!

Just the ability to make such works of art of peoples everyday lives and trips is just fantastic. You're such an inspiring filmmaker mumbo, keep it up. You actually inspired me to want to create my own short films. I hope you're proud of yourself!😄

Lovely stills mate! Really enjoyed this! It's funny I recently made a short documentary piece about my friend's love of 35mm photography and it shares a lot of similarities with this, from the way the VO was recorded to the overall feel and message.
The X100V is such a little beast!
