Nate, thank you for your presentation, I'm very new to woodworking and like the way you explain the use of the dado blades. I just bought a set and hope to try them this weekend. By the way, I like the dry humor- when you least expect it.

I just bought the avant dado set which diablo owns and my instructions say to put the washers on the outer blades

Almost all "Lifetime Guarantees" are deceptive... The consumer often assumes it refers to their lifetime, when in fact it refers to the lifetime of the product. In other words, "we guarantee this will work, until it dies."

The chippers go 90 apart then 45 for last one

Definitely do NOT install the third chipper back into a 90 degree position that is even with the first one! The third chipper is installed at a 45 degree to the first.

Got my sub. You’re down to earth, friendly, don’t take yourself too seriously, and actually kinda funny; not forced.

Question. Followed the instruction to a T, got my calipers out, and I’m not at the width advertised/instructed… thoughts?

Sorry that's not the way I was taught to set up a dado set.
When I was hurt on how to set them up the chippers always went 90 degrees was one of each other if you use two of them if you use three of them you fell right in between where you got that long big gaping hole between the outer blades I could be wrong I'm no expert

I really think your video is great, very helpful!! I recently made a cross cut sled for my table saw, which works great. Last week, I purchased the Diablo Dado Stack, and thought I would like to make dado sled. What are your thoughts??

I've stacked my blades exactly as you've done but when I tightened down, only slightly, it binds my motor. What am I doing wrong?

I was trying to dado across maple plywood and the splintering was terrible, , i even taped where the dado cut was going to be and it was terrible, , any advice to help me would be appreciated

You told us the blades are red. I guess that would help if I was color blind, which I'm not.

Not right at all. See Ken's comment. Do not follow this guy directions. This is a good way to break a tooth and risk serious injury.

I have used adjustable and stacked dado sets for years, and the only tablesaw that could not use them was a small portable one from Sears.
What is so special about the Diablo Stacked Dado Set? I'm betting it is no different from the old ones I owned and used. I'm also betting before I even watch this video that you will not be revealing anything I do not already know about dado sets or how to use them. I'll update this message after watching.
Update:
OK, as promised, I watched the video, and as I thought, you showed me nothing I did not already know. My dado sets were different in that the cutters stacked between the outside blades were a bit different. The principle is still the same though. As for the lifetime guarantee, that depends on what brand you buy. My brands always had the real lifetime guarantee. That does not include sharpening the teeth, or replacing old worn out teeth. I had a man I was dealing with who had all the proper equipment to keep my professional blades in good shape, and he did excellent work for me. My Dado sets did not need shims, because there were different widths of cutters in each set.
Now about adjustable dado blades. The one I had was adjusted by a built in dial system you twisted to make the blade the correct width. I set up tyoo much vibration in my Delta Tablesaw.

I know this is an old video. But, this is dangerous business, and you should let us know whether you got your info from Diablo or if you just decided that this is the right way to stack it. I never heard you mention any kind of source for your info. It seems you have the exact stack that I bought from Home Depot. There's nothing in the package that tells you how to do it. People are searching for videos that will show them the proper way. As far as I can tell, you are just telling us what seems right to you. But you're passing it off as the "correct" way.

This video should be three minutes long.
