I spent 15 bucks on a Ridge knock-off because I didn't want to drop the higher dollar amount and find out I didn't like it. 2 years later and it's still functioning fine. I never had to buy a Ridge. I've since moved to the Xsto and love it.

I've had two ridge knock offs and I loved them, carried each for a year, I spent the money on a Ridge and theyre the same as the knockoffs, I definitely just paid for the name, but I love it, I used to carry bi or tri fold thick leather wallets, but never again will I carry a non minimalist wallet. I've had my Ridge for two years now and I still love it, it was my 33rd birthday present from my wife and it's been one of my favorite gifts that she's ever gotten me.

You know one thing they all have in common. WAY OVERPRICED. Two chunks of some kind of metal with a fabric band.

I bought a random aluminium card holder with a lever that pushes the cards up for 10$. I still have it today and It's around 8 years ago! Been looking at purchasing a new one tho, with airtag possibilities.

my only problem with these wallets is if i have every card stacked in one of these, i have to fumbler through them to find the one im looking for. With a traditional wallet i can identify a card because they're not directly overlapping each other

The price point on these “wallets” is what ultimately deters me and probably most others. These are or can get way to expensive and for that reason I’m out.

I wonder if anyone can answer this. I have a badge I use to clock in and unlock doors at work. If I have a metal wallet like these will my bad still work through the wallet or will I need to take the badge out every time.

I've had my ridge for over ten years, and I need to replace the band. None of the wallets you showed were better than Ridge, by the way. All those other wallets were trying to imitate or surpass Ridge, which means Ridge is already a standard, it's the Cadillac of wallets :)

my issue with wallets with these style of wallets..besides cost...is the cards rubbing against each other and the magnetic strip being demagnetized. I've had this happen to some of my wife's cards..and we had to get replacements.

Aviator seems to be the most usable of the ones presented. I actually returned my Ridge wallet and bought a Bellroy All-conditions card pocket. Besides being hard to use, I did not like that it was metal. It is uncomfortable in the pocket and if it falls out of my pocket, it's game over. Bellroy is much more usable as a daily wallet in my opinion.

Can you remove the coin tray from the aviator wallet?

I bought the Xsto. What sold me was that the other wallets' top-side money clips/straps looked a little insecure (not sure if they actually are because I haven't tried them), and Xsto's corresponding area looked safer. It turns out that I haven't had any issues with cards falling out or anything. And having had this wallet for a few months now, I like it a lot better than my old one. That one, a traditional leather wallet, was too big to fit comfortably in my front pants pocket or to sit comfortably on in the back pocket, so I always took it out and laid it down on my desk or chair whenever I needed to sit down. Now I don't have to deal with that problem!

After watching the video what I learned is that, Ridge is still the top dog. All of these had things/features that are unnecessary, cluttered, wobbly(the first one, what the heck it makes noises i'd go crazy), etc. Thank you for the video, I realized that there are none so far that can match Ridge. I hope to see more designs that come out in the future. I will definitely be opened to check out other wallets

Im paying a lil extra for a mechanism to fan may cards to me. I refuse to pay for two slabs of steel held together by elastic 😂

There's a convenience factor I'm going for not more manual finger dexterity exercises. That being said, I think Groove for the price has the best simple and effective card holder for me.
The eskers trigger just isn't appealing to, but again at least you're getting something mechanical.

The main issue with this type of "wallet" is that they have significantly worse usability than a traditional one. If I want to carry all my cards in one big stack I can use a 10 cent binder clip...

On 15:30, the Amazon knockoff, by the looks of the two cut out, I think it meant push be push with your thumb and index finger 🤷🏻‍♂️ like a deck of card, but opposite, if you know what I mean 😂

Do any of you you see any issues with cards wearing out, numbers wearing off, scuffing or residue on cards… with these types of wallets?
