What do you think of this year's releases from Italeri? How do you feel they stand up against others, and is there anything you're particularly excited by? Let me know in the comments below!

Old ESCI molds never die, some other company reissues them to an unsuspecting public.

Thank you for this, and for your intelligent, dignified manner of presentation. These are a rare treat in today's media.

The G7107 single axle US Army trucks were & are the most exciting releases in all versions put out by ICM & Miniart. The US vehicles in the Italeri 2024 releases are awesome. I embrace old kits just as new kits. My nostalgia is very dear to me & messing with the older kits still feeds that part of me. My 1/48 scale Stuka "Tank Buster" from Monogram is one of my favorite models.

I like the re-issue of the F-111 and F-84. I might be buying them in the coming year.

WRT clarity I completely agree. All it would require is a single line /on the outside of the box/ (inside is pointless - it's too late once you've bought a kit to then find out it's 50 years old) stating the tooling date. Put it in the same block of text as the legalese like copyrights and everyone knows where to look.

Lack of clarity harms the company's reputation and long term will harm their profits as sales dip with a lack of consumer confidence in them.

thank you for the review I agree on the lack of clarity of the reboxing and pricing. The Tu 22 is a very old kit quite not accurate in particular in the cockpit part the Trumpeter version seems to be far better base with much more detail for such a very large kit.

What I want to know is when Italeri is going to release the 1/35 Higgins PT Boat they had listed, Number 5622 in 2017 in their catalog

Sounds like how much lipstick can you apply to a pig.?
I used to like Italeri, it looks like they are reissuing a lot of antiques. I'm happy with what I have in my stash. I can be very selective with my purchases this year. There are a few kits on the market that I would like to acquire. I did hear from other reviewers that this year the pickings are pretty slim.
Thank you for the heads up on what to expect.

I can confirm the AMX-T is already out...thought it was due later this year so imagine my surprise when i checked my local shop website and they already have it listed as "out of stock"

I absolutely love that Italeri are making more Italian WW2 prop fighters, there's an over abundance of German and Allied props and barely any Italian ones (specially in 1/32) which is a damn shame because they have pretty good camo scheme variety on top of being good looking planes. Hopefully they make the G.55 or 56, and maybe Italian early jets in the future.

Thanks for the vid. I have a fondness for Italeri as a company that exported to Australia in the early 70's and were affordable (in small scales) along with Matchbox/Airfix.
I remember seeing the Zundapp 750 in the hobby shop in '75 (Wow! But out of my price range). I have it now and it is still a great kit.
And I remember having the Gotha 242. They do/did some interesting and different subjects.
I recently built the AB40 and the the Horch (Tamiya's pop) both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have the Saharianas (one with resin) and the AB series and the little L6/40 (Tamiya's pop again!).
I've ordered the 1/32 Macchi 202 (still waiting here🙂). I await the new Italian armour but would prefer L & L over rubber band tracks. And their modern decals are great.
I agree that they (like others) should be more upfront with reissues of older moulds.
However, there is a fine balance of being able to create new kits and keep profitability (and jobs) in a competitive industry. Anyway, I like Italeri, they're fun kits, (each to their own though).
Thanks for the fair appraisal. Matt 🦘🦘🦘

I like Italeri for their subjects. Different from other manufacturers. Quality wise and regarding molding age honesty they could improve. Since we have scalemates I do not see it as a reason to walk away from them. Thanks for the walk through 💥👍💥

I'm kinda happy with the re-release of the G.91 Gina.
I know it's an old kit but if it isn't too expensive I will buy it.

What ever happened to the Italeri 1/35 Higgins PT Boat #5622 that was in their catalogue 6 years or so ago?

A good and fair look at what is coming this year from Italeri, Alex. More than a couple of them interest me. By the way, the background music during your Conclusions stage drowns out your voice. I had to switch on Closed Captions to see what you were saying. Cheers mate. 😊 Edit: Oh wait, you have already fixed the wonky audio. All good now. 👍🏻👍🏻

The thought occurs that a fairly big chunk of the cost of creating any new product is in R & D. Doesn't make business sense then to do as Italeri have here and produce models of the same aircraft (the F35C) in different scales. Do the research for the largest scale and create the computer models. For smaller scales the research has already been done, so all that is required is to adapt the existing computer models to the smaller scale. In fact I think there is an argument for designing /every/ kit to the largest likely size, say 1:48, later develop a 1:72 kit, and you get two kits for one research phase and developing the computer models for the 1:72 will be much cheaper. Perhaps pass the cost savings to the consumer and everyone's a winner!
