The part that always gets me is when Simon comes to terms with Kamina's death, in a moment that, while one of the most badass things ever put to animation, was also incredibly touching. Especially when you see how badly he was taking Kamina's death earlier. Even better, the angst was paced so that it was enough to make you feel really bad for Simon without getting annoyed by it.
