Yhwach is the main villain of BLEACH’s TYBW arc, which will be adapted in the new Bleach anime releasing in October 2022. In order to prepare for its release I will be breaking down and analysing everything that we know about the father of all of the quincy, and the son of the Soul King: Yhwach. He was a fascinating villain with a clear motive that he wasted little time to act upon, unlike Aizen he did not have time for tricks or mind games, he got down to business by immediately destroying the soul society and killing the head captain. In this video I will go over everything that there is to know about Yhwach, and hopefully by the end of this video you will understand his character better as well as learn some new information that you didn't know about him.

Keep in mind that the reason Kyoka Suigetsu worked on The Almighty Yhwach is because Yhwach visited Aizen and Aizen cast it on him *before* he awakened The Almighty. And we know that KS is everlasting (The Vizards are still under the same hypnosis from 100 years ago), and since Yhwach can't manipulate his past, he's susceptible to KS. Not to mention Haschwalth, Tsukishima, Uryuu, and Ichigo, all are contributing to Yhwach's defeat.

If Yhwach’s mustache was longer and could move and grab things, he would’ve been unstoppable.

I love that all the three main antagonists of Bleach manipulated Ichigo in some way. Aizen manipulated events in the past that lead to his birth, Ginjo manipulated Ichigo in the present and Yhwach manipulated his future. This was a wonderful analysis of the Quincy King that really shows of the great parts of his character! Great work as always!

One thing I really liked about Yhwach was that he didn't underestimate his enemies like most anime villains. Kubo actually made him beat the main character with his full power and made sure the Ichigo couldn't use his full power against him. Most anime villains would allow Ichigo to go Bankai and be defeated but not Yhwach. It was annoying yet satisfying that he broke Ichigo's Bankai because that's what any rational thinking person would do in that situation instead of stand there and let him get stronger, just like he anticipated the shinigami would get stronger without their bankai and he had an answer to that basically militarily intelligence.

Yhwach, in a sense, tried to save his father from his predicament. He also tried to remove the concept of death so that people would no longer fear death and no one would be sent to Hell to suffer for all eternity. In a sense, he tried to save everyone. But as Aizen said in the ending, in a world without fear of death, people won't have the courage.

The fact that Young Yuha Baha looks like Tensa Zangetsu is genuis

I'm reminded of what Hachi said to Barragan, "In the end it seems as though you shared the same concerns as most mortals, a desire to avoid aging coupled with a great fear of death."
This also describes Ywhach.

What a long, informative, and very entertaining analysis. I actually liked him over Aizen as a villian but knowning that he became the next soul king makes us sympathize with him more.

My theory on how he is the soul king's 'son', Ywach was the other half/negative aspect of reio's soul that could not be destroyed after his body got split into pieces by the founding shinigami clans. Ichibei stripped him of everything and rendered him into a vegetable state so that he could not gain sentience like the arms did, but everything changed when the early Quincy discovered him and gave him a Name.

He started at Ichigo's guide and ended up as his final opponent. The one to blame for his mother's demise. Although Ichigo moved forward he was there from the start to end

Yhwach has seen the future and has made it so that the anime is a guaranteed banger

Weird idea: Ywhach controls the future, Aizen controls the present, Tsukishima controls the past. All three were main villains of the arcs and their powers are central to the plot. It's only with past and present working together can the future be changed

I want to know more about Yhwach’s relationship with General Yamamoto. They got some history.

I finished reading Bleach for the very first time last week. This is remarkable well timed.
Super appreciate your breakdown here, it was definitely worth my time.
Honestly the ending didnt bother me that much. I'm more upset Unohana had to die for Kenpachi's bankia than I am about *Almighty* being op.

I've never seen a worthy villain like Ywach in ALL ANIME HISTORY

These videos have reignited my love for bleach. Ywach is a fully realized character now whereas before I thought he was forced and contrived. I didn’t fully understand the lore and glad it’s been cleared up by the lite novels.

His utterly ruthless single minded drive to bring about the old world along with ending his father's humiliation ironically led to him ending as the one thing he feared more than death itself. It's also interesting that he was known among humans in the past, although certainly as just another warlord, not as a messianic figure waging war against Shinigami.

They really should explain the Soul King and how Yhwach’s ideals correlate to him in the final arc.

Something that I’ve suspected for a while now is that the villains of bleach - both Aizen and Yhwach - are actually the ones who are morally in the right when you look at the big picture. Yeah their methods are extreme, but their shared desire to destroy the Soul King system set up by the Shinigami and make something better is ultimately the right thing to do. The conspiracy set up by the five Noble Houses and Ichibei runs deep and has some very sinister secrets. Would it really be such a bad thing if Aizen or Yhwach got what they wanted?

This video gave me a lot of insight into Yhwach's motives and totally changed my views on his character. What a great video. Thank you for all the research and effort you put into your character analysis videos
