When Mr Hikmet is given a terminal diagnosis he wonders what will become of the fortune he has worked so hard to amass - he can't leave everything to his frivolous son Emir. He travels to see Reyhan, the daughter of an old family friend. She is a kind and caring girl and Hikmet has her promise to marry Emir, securing a stable future for the family. But Emir makes his own promise - to punish his father for controlling his life he will treat Reyhan so badly that she is forced to leave him.

It is so clear that they have already fallen in love and that Reyhan is too afraid to let Emir speak because she is scared of what it is he is going to say. Even when Zafer confronted him he made it out to be nothing, that he would do it for anyone but he knew something inside of him changed. He was fighting within himself as he later confessed to Zafer - he was fighting to avoid getting too close to Reyhan who he saw as a stranger but also he was fighting with himself and the man who is in love. What a beautiful story and so poetic. Emir has such a lyrical manner of expressing himself - Gokberk thank you ❤️🔥
