I know people have been hating on this palette for how bland it is but that's why I like it lol . As someone who is pretty light, I actually struggle to find palettes that are mostly light neutral shades. This might be the first palette I will use every shade on a regular basis. So glad to hear it is a similar formula to past palettes!

Super helpful! I had major trouble with the highlighter in Clay Play II, so that’s the only thing that would attract me to this palette. It kept arriving shattered and on the last attempt I just repressed it. But it’s super chunky and not worth using. I never use that palette, which is a shame bc I used the original CP constantly!

I love face palettes, I love neutral palettes, and I love this packaging, and I was so tempted by this palette, but I really appreciate your review--it's reinforcing suspicions I had about the shades, and it's keeping me from spending $40 on a palette I know I truly do not need, no matter how pretty it is. I love these types of colors so I've been eyeing this palette, but ultimately felt they wouldn't show up well on me. Having said that, I never thought to look at the Clay Play palette. Your swatches make it very tempting to try out! Thank you for the review, hope you're having a good day!

I'm so in love with this packaging. I don't have Clay Play 2 but I own the all matte version which I like already. I have other Tarte palettes with shimmers that I can use to create looks that mirror this palette. Thanks for the comparison.

Wow, I was going to buy this palette because it’s packaging is so gorgeous. I have seen a few reviews now, but you’re the first to compare it to the Clay Play II. Ever since the whole shape-tape-gate situation I’m still turned off by Tarte. I will use the products that I have from them, which is quite a few, but I don’t plan on purchasing any more, at least not in the near future. Not being petty, I’m just choosing to spend my money on other brands at the moment. Great review and comparison!

I ❤️ your background! It’s so aesthetically pleasing! The palette’s packaging is really pretty, but since I already have the too faced natural palette, I don’t feel like I need this palette.

Thank you for the observation about the two palettes. I think it also looks like the Nudie Patootie palette, which I feel is sooo similar to the BH Glam Reflection Rose palette (I have both and noticed that this weekend)
