Good to see the daily life of maintenance on the farm

The car is abit close, it will catch sparks from the grinder.

Also the flail heads are flat at the bottom for a clean cut and rotor to be balanced (information via Romford engineer

hello Richard. just to say your hedgecutter looks like its in pretty good condition.well done you obviously look after it well. it reminds me of the first mcconnal i had with levers instead of buttons. i have to say it is much harder to a cut a hedge with levers so you need to take credit for doing a good job with what can be quite a tiring job all day with levers. well done. i was once told if you can cut a hedge level with levers, you can cut any hedge. Don t worry too much about your flails they are in quite good nick, no chunks missing out of them where stones have been hit and a good sharpening puts it ready for next time. I quite enjoy a bit of hedgecutting, its a job where you can see an improvement where you have cut, very satisfying. nice to see the daffs out! a way off around here yet. thanks for the catch up video 👍

I use mole grips when I sharpen mine, works a treat.

Smart to do it now. Likely wouldn’t have time when it comes to next time you use it.

That’s a job you should teach young harry alongside going up the chimney to clean it and catching the Christmas turkey from a neighbouring farm

Blimey, must be warm in your part of the country, your daffodils are in full bloom . Ours are just poking out
of the ground.

Looks like a tedious job. I don't have one myself because I don't use one much but if you got yourself a cordless grinder, it would help I'd imagine around the farm Rich.

Richard does your brother not do any hedge cutting it seems you always get the handy jobs 😂😂

Hi Richard it's one of them you just don't want to do but have to Crack on

Should really put a brand new set on past there limit and it won’t do the bearing much good and balance will be affected!

Very mundane sort of job you try to put off as long as you can, it's bad enough re-grinding or honing the blade on a rotary lawn mower with a flat metal file.🥴

grind them flat from the underside, were you are grinding dosnt make much difference, a flat bottom makes the cut, not the angle in my experience

Hi farmer funky I never world do that grinding the blades because you are making them weak and then the balance of the blade that you took off now you might mess up your bearings. I hope you don’t mess them up because they are pain in the butt to change them. the bearings I never ever have to change any bearings on my overwhelm mower and yes, I did cut everything big cheese small trees you name it for the people can see it on the road in the deer for the only hit the deer that’s why we cut the bus back along the road at least three or four times be good now no more singing, please
