It's the next big thing from Leder Games, but is it worth it just for solo?

COMPONENTS - Fabulous! I have zero complaints here. The storage, the tokens, the cards, the wonderful roll-out map. It's all pretty awesome :)

Thanks for this! I realized I played the trade action wrong with the CP.

Awesome play through dude- this was a huge help to me!
Couple notes- you mention at some point that you can’t take the darkest secret from the prince because there were no cards at his site however this apparently has been changed and you can take it even if there are no cards at the site or if the player has no advisers.
Secondly I was a bit confused on the chart as to why you moved up when it said “battle ready” because it doesn’t look like an arrow but I eventually caught how that worked.
Great stuff!

39:33 when one die roll destroys your entire strategy... 😭 lol
Seriously, though, this is a great playthrough, I really appreciate watching someone play against the Clockwork Prince who understands the mechanisms so well. Great game, sorry you got killed with a d6 👍😎🚛

This is great -- it confirms that I've playing the Prince correctly :-). A couple comments:
17:47 - I believe you should have used the Elders action to gain the secret, since it wouldn't cost any supply. You could then have used the secret to gain more favor from the Nomads.
23:05 - Assuming you're playing the Prince in the "Limited" (basic, easy) way, they don't use battle plans that require discarding cards (unlike Bandits), so they wouldn't play the Rain Boots

Thanks for the video! Well done. I got to playtest this a few times. Like a COIN game Oath needs 4 people to shine and I was disappointed that once again they made solo play only as a two player experience. I get making solo rules for this game had to be really hard, so I'm glad they tried. hopefully someone else improves on the system.

wow the mind map for the AI is really clever. Can't wait to open my copy of this game. It'll be tough to get a couple of people to play this with me but at least the solo mode looks fun enough

At 22:00 you went directly up to the move/campaign action. That wasn’t connected to the start spot on the Clockwork mind. What informed you that was the spot to go to? I had thought the action token only moves along the arrow paths

6:10 Correct me if I'm wrong but I see two revealed site cards in the Hinterlands. In the Chronicle rules, it says to reveal the top most site card of a region only if there is no other face up site cards in them (I think). In your case, the Standing Stones are already revealed because of the ruined edifice. So shouldn't the Lush Coast be face down at the start of the game ?

Great demo of the solo mode.
Question, not sure if I missed something.

At 14:42, did you forget to take a favor from the Nomad bank after playing Rain Boots? Or is there a different rule when playing from a facedown advisor?

It's a 1/6 die roll. What are the chances? 100%

@48:00 why did they get one favor for starting on the mine? Doesn't it have to be their pawn? It is just a warband there.

I can't find the rule what says bandits should discard the card in their site. Is this a community rule?

10:23 "when they play a card or discard it, they gain one favor" - I think this is wrong. If the Clockwork Prince discards a card, the Prince only gains the "can't play" benefits - and with favor gained (to Ambition) only if these benefits include gaining favor.

I'd like to buy it but I always play solo, do you suggest it for only solitaire player? Maybe with a 2nd hand box should more reasonable, isnt it? Thanks

Really like the look of this game but there’s just too much going on for me. Looks confusing.

During your trade action around 17:50, you spent one secret to obtain two favor, then you immediately spent those two coins to gain one secret. Net gain = nothing. Was there a strategic reason for it? I know in multiplayer it can be to keep others from being able to use those cards, but what about for solo play?

I know this video is three years old by now but if you can play solo with essentially two players one being AI the other human why couldnt you just play this at two human without the AI?

I assumed it wouldnt be fun but you looked to be having plenty of fun at two and you problems with it were mainly that the AI especially as an exile isnt a human who would make smarter plays.

I had a three player game going but the person who is the current chancellor lives further away but the other is over frequently for Board game nights so i might have him and i do a game with clockwork as chancellor and once they are dethroned maybe drop to just two and give it a shot

Lovely video as always, and the game mechanics look great. Unfortunately, I really, really, REALLY don't like the art. It makes my eyes hurt to the point that it is impossible for me to enjoy the mechanics. Others in my play group love the art of course, but this is just not to my liking, so this is one game (and Root) that I will never play with them :(
Cheers for the video.
