The government says biomass power has helped reduce the UK's use of coal but scientists argue that burning wood for power is not a sustainable solution.

Executive director of Climate Imperative, Bruce Nille, argues why he thinks biomass shouldn't be considered a renewable energy, and founder of Climate in Colour Joycelyn Longdon agrees saying it's not a "sustainable" energy.

No it's not clean energy, but is much cleaner and safer energy than nuclear and coal.

Instead of subsidizing Drax - plant the trees and subsidize people to use 12% less electricity (guaranteed HMRC refund check paid automatically or similar?)?

*Drax is causing outrageous timber shortage & price rises?* MDF, chipboard ect. Drax pay higher with £800m subsidy👆 Timber stored as homes & furniture, doesn't pay Carbon Traders £b (Tony Blair style)?
