Are you a Grothendieck fan Mark? Your journey seems very similar to mine! I'm 27 working on finishing my undergrad and I've been carrying around Abstract Algrabra by Herstein for 6 years. I like how you use the amount of time you've kept at it as the overwhelmingly positive thing it is and not somehow proof that it isn't for you. In my life it seems like most people don't really understand what it means to want to understand something so badly that you're willing to keep it in your mind through all those years of ups and downs, where sometimes you don't think about what you want to learn for months, and then you find it again and your spark for it had never left! Keep it up, I know how much it can mean to know that you're honoring your wish to learn these topics.

Idk who you are bro but best of luck!

It's great that you seem to have found subject you like, many people don't have that and just wonder aimlessly

Awesome!😊In my case, the spark that began my mathematical study was the biographies of Gauss and Riemann.

Do you have any documentary recommendations on math? Any novel or book recommendations too would be awesome.
