I identify with this video, honestly at 2017 when he died i thought it was just a bad rapper, just another drug addict, but once by chance i heard one of his songs i liked it, so i gave the oportunity to hear more of him; now i'm here, 6 years laters, still hearing Lil Peep, cause he has great songs with verses like this (one of my favorites).

Lil Peep, born Gustav Åhr, was a New York rapper, singer, songwriter, and fashion model, who brought awareness to mental health issues and pioneered a new form of music known as emo rap. Rapping about depression, anxiety, heartbreak, and addiction, all of which he experienced, Lil Peep has raised awareness to sensitive topics that other rap musicians wouldn’t. Ahr comforted his audience with the pain they struggled with, and influenced multiple modern pop culture communities with his music, fashion, lifestyle, and message. Tragically, he passed away on November 15, 2017 at the age of 21, due to an accidental drug overdose.

Part one

Ahr was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on November 1, 1996 and grew up in Long Beach, New York. For the most part, he had a normal childhood, even though his father was absent, his mother tried her best, working as a first-grade teacher. He had a distain for school and would frequently play hookie. In an interview with Pitchfork, when they asked about his highschool experience, he responded, “I wasn’t there. I would go, sit there for 45 minutes, be like, I cannot take this. My high school was a closed campus, so we weren’t allowed to leave, so I had to hop a 20-foot fence to run away from these f***ing fat security guards every f***ing day(Ahr, Pitchfork).” He was fascinated with clothing and possessed a unique personal sense of style and mentioned that people at his school would constantly try to copy him. Later in life, he worked as a model and walked in Paris during fashion week. Lil Peep grew up listening to a variety of music genres, including emo, punk, and rock, all which he drew heavy inspiration from in his own music. In an interview, he stated he was inspired by bands like Nirvana, Blink-182, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and rappers like Future and Gucci Mane. When Lil Peep was 17, he left his hometown and moved to Los Angeles to start his music career. From there, he would frequently drop in and out of homelessness, and would move around to cities like Pasadena and Denver. Ahr had an obsession with tattoos, and flaunted a face tattoo of a broken heart, a topic which would become a frequent theme in his music. He has stated that he got the tattoo to motivate him to succeed in the music industry and avoid the “straight life”, since a face tattoo makes it almost impossible to get a normal job. Lil Peep got a large red anarchy symbol tattooed on his cheek, reflecting his rebellion against government and authority. R.i.p

Bro do you realize he exited life two weeks after he turned 21? He was just a young buck when he wrote all of his music and I find it damn near unbelievable that this young man could come with such heat over and over and over.
