A foodie is someone who really likes food. Thats it, they're just eaters and get excited for food. My husband is a foodie, i am not. I eat because I have to. He eats because he loves food.

For me : A foodie is someone who likes food, not for the quantity, but the taste (i'm not saying quality necessarily, really about taste imo). Usually they like to go to restaurants and try out new things within their boundaries, so to me it doesn't matter that someone doesn't eat Y or Z at all. It can even be thah they "specialise" in a specific group of food/dish. Basically they eat food as a hobby so they also accumulate knowledge as a result :)

I think there is actually a book about it, it was writen ages ago and not only answers this but also talk about what is good service. It was writen for a rich person who really liked food and cooking but was not alowed to work on that because his social status was too high and that would have been shamefull so he started ho write about good food, good servce and how to have a good eating experience

I enjoy learning about different food from different cultures but mostly I eat coz I have to ..there are some foods that i absolutely love but I wouldn't call myself a foodie.. my personal definition of a foodie is someone who loves food just the idea of good food makes them happy..they are willing to try new things and food can set everything right for them.... I am a picky eater but I wish we all could be foodies... it's a blessing on the table isn't it

I would say someone who just loves food and if given food they’ll probably be the first to say Yes, I’m sure there are stuff they don’t like too. I would say I’m a Dessertie 😂💕

Someone who loves food of different kind including different cultures and actually try the foods.

Someone who enjoys food. I consider myself a foodie, because I love various kinds of foods from classics to comfort foods to pastries to more on the adventurous side (willing to try new exotic things for the excitement of it). I dont necessarily take pictures.

My Gramms was too. Our motto was to try a dish twice: 1st time you may have some apprehension and not give it a chance; the 2nd time you can form a real opinion on it. I've had foods most people won't trybsimply because of the look or an ingredient, and they turn out to be amazing! It backfires sometimes when I try something super expensive or rare that I can never afford to have again, and I'm over here craving it 😂

The only things I can't try are things with tumeric because they trigger full-blown migraines that last days.

A foodie is a non-picky eater and loves to try different types of foods from different cultures or cooking styles. I don't believe they necessarily have to have that knowledge component. But, someone who is knee deep in the foodie world will probably research things because they'll want to recreate those experiences at home. Don't believe this aspect is a requirement, but it's a common characteristic. Taking pics of their food is not a requirement and not a mark of a foodie whatsoever. Though, again, someone who gets very excited about different foods and wants to share that experience with others may be more inclined to take pics---still not a requirement, however.

I woud say a foodie is someone who knows alot a large array of food, I agree with that. Also I think a foodie is someone who cooks different foods and luv to cook different recipes. A foodie also likes to try different foods and are not eating just for nescesity. Eating for nescesity is not something a foodie would be something they would say imo because they like to savor and really eat for the luv of the experience of food, not necessarily eating for nutritional purposes.
