This is important. But the bigger points are...
If you have not restored your backup. You don't have one.
If you have not validated your backup process, you're asking for trouble.

But 99% of the time, I need The Structure, The Code... And 90% of the data is not important to me.

That's a "dump" and not a "backup".

The final way I think about it is... Programmers use Dump Tools. And Operations Use Backup/Restore tools.
