How wonderful it is to come across Gene Vincent Parts 1 and 2 with the Blue Caps! I was only 10 when Be Bop a Lula became a massive hit on WDGY in Minneapolis. All my pre-teen girlfriends and I were linked to our transistor radios with one ear bud, lay at the beach and mimicked the records at our pajama parties. We could hardly wait to buy the next 45. I really knew little about Gene’s life before, his leg injury and how he got into recording and performing. I found your 2-part documentary via a vlog about Eddie Cochran being in a car accident in England with Gene and Eddie passed away. We kids were glued to WDGY and KFBB in Minneapolis and there was massive coverage of the Buddy Holly plane crash that killed him, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens. Well, Eddie Cochran was born in Minnesota so I wonder why he wasn’t given the same amount of coverage after his car wreck in England and Eddie’s death? Thanks for all the reminiscences of touring in the late 1950’s. I look forward to catching up on the rest of your vlogs. 🎉🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎸

brilliant documentary, fantastic interviews and a great reminder of how brilliant Gene was, my favourite artist of all time, he was way wilder than any punk rocker or the likes of Lemmy etc

Gene Vincent was great. There was a movie made in the late 90s called Road Racers. Terrific movie that included the song (Race with the Devil) I was always a fan of Gene Vincent. He was way ahead of his time with a hard edge.

Did/does the Nelson estate still have the demo of Be Bop A Lula? No one ever asked Ken this question? Where's all Alternates/out takes from the first 2 albums?
