First of all, He's in a county jail in a basement under a courthouse. Jail is much safer than Prison. Also, He's fully aware that they need him for the set court date so they won't risk anything happening to him before he's convicted. It's easier when you know how much you're protected. Love this guys jokes sometimes but he's describing something that Bryan isn't experiencing in that basement in Latah County Jail. Sure, inmates are going to say things to him, but he knows it's mostly barking because it's a high profile case and he's in a small jail facility

Sound pleasant. Only 17 inmates total means he is being pampered. The jail probably gets 30 meals a day so they can't help but giving him all he wants.
