This song really isn't a comedy. When I first discovered it, I was kind of a pleb and didn't listen to the lyrics much, but now I know it's about a WW1 soldier who had his legs and arms blown up, is blind and can't speak. It's just about as nightmarish of a scenario as you can possibly imagine, being literally imprisoned inside your own body, not being able to even communicate. In the music video, the soldier jolts on the hospital bed trying to signal the staff in morse code saying "kill me". After the concept of this song really crystallized to me, I can't really listen to it anymore. I mean, it's a brilliant song, but the concept truly frightens me.
