I had a similar variety called midnight snack. They were ripe when the bottoms were red

I grew a black variety this year, tiny little variety that turned slightly red underneath. They look like big blackcurrants. Lovely taste ❤

I've got loads of black cherry plants outside too. Absolutely laden with fruit but it's been too cloudy and wet here, and they are just in stasis.
Can't wait to eat my first one 😊

sweet. I've grown a black cherry tomato. not that one by name. glad you enjoyed them as much as I did. I'd a black plum tomato growing until July. then it got hot, 40c, and zero rain for nearly 2 months. excellent Charles!

I planted some for the first time this year and unlike yours, mine turn red on the bottom, so I knew it was time to harvest them, they are also red on the inside. great taste!

Thank you for sharing! I’m growing black cherry tomatoes for the first time this year in central Indiana. They are just starting to ripen and blush, except it’s not a pink blush…more of a very dull purple-y orange. I can hardly wait until I can try one! They’ll be a spectacle when they are ripe!

My indigo cherry tomatoes have the stem end hug the tops. When they're ripe, any unexposed part is red. It makes a little red pentagram on the fully black fruit. Very metal.
