Luka Doncic is Not Normal

With every game, Luka Doncic seems to find more and more ways to break the game of basketball. The Dallas Mavericks have been on a hot streak since the Daniel Gafford trade and the PJ Washington trade, and a large part of that has been Luka Doncic taking his game to yet another level. With how wide open the Western Conference feels this season, and with the NBA MVP up for grabs, Luka Doncic is priming himself for a late push.

He's been thriving alongside Kyrie Irving as his running mate, finding new ways to make use of rookie Dereck Lively II and his post-trade deadline teammates.

If the Dallas Mavericks can put it all together before the postseason, it's gonna get scary for the rest of the NBA.

Where does Luka Doncic rank in the MVP race? 👇

His footwork and body control whilst dribbling is insane. The way he was toying with Mobley in those clips is just beautiful basketball.

You break it down and it gives the illusion that these plays are happening slow but no this action is happening in literal 2-4 second intervals pro speed is crazy

MVP is between him and joker. Peak euroball

3:20 illustrates what true high bball IQ is -- his no-look is not just a flashy head movement to display passing prowess, it serves a clear purpose to completely bamboozle the defense using Kyrie's gravity. That's why watching Luka never gets old or boring: he adds a mind game dimension to hooping, always at least one step ahead of everyone.

Appreciate waiting for the win over Toronto to post this.

I genuinely believe Luka is the best offensive player of all time he’s generating the most points in nba history right now and he just turned 25. oh and btw he’s been avging 3.3 deflections for the last 2 months which is 3rd in the nba

Only the fact that Joel was again in MVP conversation just demonstrate how the basketball culture is F...ed up in this county.

Everybody know Luka is the True Most Valuable Player in the sense of the word. Unfortunately the award has a lot of caveats that come and go according to the narrative that suits the media, but there is no question that he is the most determinant player in the league this year.

It used to be a huge deal when a player put up these kind of stats in one game and Luka does it like 3x a week

I know the league has changed but still

If MVP actually was awarded to most valuable player Luka would have 3 by now ^^

As a fan that hated his arguing with refs, and his low effort defense.. he's actually been a lot better at both recently, as well. His rebounds, steals, and overall defense is great now.

It feels like he's buying in more on winning, not just scoring.

He's the real deal offensively and defensively he's not bad

One more advantage is since he is not that athletic, he is not prone to injury.

How frustrating it has to be for a defender to play him pretty much perfectly but you gave him 6 inches of space & he drained a 28 ft 3 right over your outstretched hand. Has to be demoralizing AF after the 3rd or 4th time that it happens.

My two absolute favourites are Steve Nash and Luka Donic, basketball is fun when they play.

And its not like luka is overly dominant from one area of the court he is top 5 in shooting percentage from each area of the court plus being a elite playmaker there is legit no way to guard that man
