Weirdly enough, we have the exact same idiom in German. "Steter Tropfen höhlt den Stein." -> Constant droplets hollow out the rock.

It's always interesting when two very far removed languages come up with similar phrases in a sort of parallel evolution!

The Chinese equivalent is the idiom 水滴石穿, "water droplets pierce through stone." It means as long as you persevere, your dreams will come true. 持之以恆 事必有成 man the harder language always sounds cooler

I think there's a similar proverb in Russian. "Вода камень точит" - Water sharpens the stone. It basically has the same meaning.

There's some related Proverbs in English
"Baby steps" is the first one I think of, it's the idea of taking/thinking of a task as a lot of small & easy steps
"Winds of Time" as a poetic reflection on how even wind can change things
And "death by a thousand cuts" which is this idea but kinda in reverse, you can be worn down by many little stressful things in your life
