Diana’s Wedding Tiara: Who else has worn it?

This is probably the most famous tiara in modern history. Despite strong association with Princess Diana it actually never belonged to her.

It was constructed in the 1930s by the Crown Jeweller Garrad of different family heirlooms for Lady Cynthia Spencer (Diana’s Grandmother), and then inherited by her son, John, 8th Earl Spencer.

Queen Diana.❤ I love how she had her own family tiara to wear on her wedding day. She didn't have to ask the Queen for a loan-tiara. I think that is also the reason she wore her own family tiara so often, clearly the Queen wasn't too generous with allowing others to wear any of the Royal family tiaras. Princess Margaret bought her own (the Poltimore tiara) so she didn't have to keep asking the Queen to lend her one. I think that pearl tiara is the only tiara that the Queen gave permission for Diana to wear.

It is the Spencer Family tiara. I got to see it in the Diana, Princess of Wales exhibit when it came on tour in the US along with Diana's iconic wedding dress and some of her clothing and such. The tiara is breathtaking!
Perhaps when Princess Charlotte gets married some day, she could ask her Great Uncle Charles Spencer to borrow it in honor of her Grandmother Diana.
When Charles and Diana were to be wed, the Queen offered Diana her choice from several tiaras from the royal collection but Diana chose the Spencer tiara making it all the more special.
