What he’s saying is that if your interpretation of Jesus dying on the cross is Nothing but a sacrificial offering to avoid going hell, then what you believe is similar to all these other pagan gods. He’s suggesting that’s not the reason Jesus died on the cross

This is why Jesus came, to keep it simple.

Our living God never required a human sacrifice. The sacrificial system of sacrificing unblemished clean animals from Adam to Moses and from Moses upto Jesus' time was a shadow pointing towards Jesus, the son of God who is the 'Lamb of God' which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29, 30)..who would die on our behalf....to atone for for our sins...."that whosoever believeth on him shall not die but have everlasting life" John 3:16. And He accomplished that on the cross!! That is the good news of the Gospel. God bless!

That's pretty bad. When someone decides to reject the truth, they can find some awfully strange beliefs

The Gospel is first Corinthians fifteen, 1-4, KJV. Jesus Saves and God bless. Please pray for the lost.

Really? That many parallels? How did you find this out? I'd like to know 🙏 I heard that the word Baal means Lord.

Sadly hate comments in this blog completely missed and/or misunderstood Dr Jennings' point.

You guys have to watch the whole other presentations to get the picture of God you are worshipping before making any comments.

Baal is the lord of destruction and can be killed in seconds by a fully kitted Amazon.

Here we go ladies and gentleman! The comments under this post only prove how blinded Christians are! I am forever thankful to my Creator from helping me to COME OUT of this mindset.

Baal didn't create anything, the Almighty God did. Baal and 300 prophets couldn't even battle Elijah...

That is the kind of idea the devil want to confuse human from real God with the fallen one

Few things:

1. Baal-Hadad is likely not the origin of the “storm-god” divine profile but a further reflex of an older tradition. We see earlier attestations to Inner Syrian & Hurrian storm-gods like Teššub & Addu & contemporary attestations to *Seth* playing the role of Storm-God vs the Sea in the Astarte Papyrus. For these reasons I would have to respectfully disagree with the implication that Baal & his Cycle were the catalyst for an expansion of Storm-God beliefs throughout the ANE & beyond. This motif had been spread and popularized prior to the Ugaritic literature.

2. There’s at least two passages in the Hebrew Bible that scholars are in pretty wide agreement on being “taken” from the Baal Cycle tradition.

3. Within the Baal Cycle, Baal has *two* fathers. El & Dagan. They are not the same entity in the story & the author even utilizes this dual male deity parentage to introduce hostilities into the narrative between Baal & his allies vs Yam & his. We see a similar motif with Teššub being the offspring of the male deities Kumarbi & Anu in the Kumarbi Cycle.

We also see something similar from the writings of Philo of Byblos & his description of the Phoenician storm-god Demarcus and his dual male parentage of Ouranos & Dagan.

Baal is El (Enlil). The Canaanites worshiped him. Later certain tribes broken off from the Canaanites & formed Israelites. The Israelites worshiped the same God. They called him Yahweh. This God loved war, he was pretty evil & cunning by pinning the Canaanites & Israelites to war amongst each other for thousands of years & still going to this day. This is pretty sad. The Creator (The Father) does not demand blood human/animal sacrifice for atonement to salvation. This is clearly not Jesus true teachings. Those Gods are not The Father that Jesus talks about. Christians are follower of Paul (Saul). Basically they are worshipping a flesh & blood alien.😢

Christ is different, he sacrificed himself, he did not demand sacrifice

This argument sounds like he's saying "Christianity is a better deal so that makes it the true one". If that were the case, some random guy could just start a new religion that goes "God's ok with you doing whatever you like and you're guaranteed to spend eternity in heaven - no strings attached." and that would be even easier.
