David L. Cooperrider, Ph.D. is the Fairmount Minerals Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Cooperrider is past Chair of the National Academy of Management's OD Division and has lectured and taught at Harvard, Stanford, University of Chicago, Katholieke University in Belgium, MIT, University of Michigan, Cambridge and others. Dr. Cooperrider is founder and Chair of the Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit.
The center's core proposition is that sustainability is the business opportunity of the 21st century, indeed that every social and global issue of our day is an opportunity to ignite industry leading eco- innovation, social entrepreneurship, and new sources of value.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I use this as an assignment with my Organizational Behavior classes to inspire and educate. Resilience is an underlying theme; along with hope, inspiration and joy. Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and the 4D model is less well explained, though the use of AI as a large group planning tool is mentioned.

Beware this deceiving wolf in sheeps clothing. Observe his corporate elite style of language, for example.. "what an amazing moment to be in the field of leadership and management". That's because he only cares about management, executives and their corporate agendas. He himself designed a program of applied psychology for use on front line workers that allows CEO's and management to implement change with minimal backlash or criticism by those negatively impacted.
What most fitting is almost empty audience. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

14:12 when he says we spend almost $10 Trillion per year on war (I'm paraphrasing)... and this figure is six years old.
