This song gives me chills everytime I hear it. I was 10 years old when it was released. I remember seeing the movie with my mother and brother at the movie theater in Hempstead, N.Y., and the smell of "cheeba" "cheeba" with my popcorn, soda and strawberry licorice😋.
Ahhh...the good ole days! LOL😅🤣

@cmock810: WHY IS IT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND THIS SONG WAS WRITTEN BY CURTIS MAYFIELD AS A SOUNDTRACK AND HE WANTED THE STAPLES SINGERS TO SING IT! EVEN THOUGH THE SONG’S MEANING HAS A DOUBLE ENTENDRE, POPS STAPLES KNEW THIS WAS JUST FOR THE SOUNDTRACK!

@jALTtROtULL: Your pure & puritanical view of what you would & wouldn’t do is laughable! First of all when Curtis Mayfield wrote the soundtrack to the movie the Staples considered it an honor to sing a song on a movie soundtrack especially in the 70’s (as it does today for artists to have a track promoted in a movie)! Moreover considering today’s lyrics and what was sung then is quite tame by standards…As I mentioned before judging by your screen name you probably don’t have credence to comment on the culture! Finally just rent a copy of the movie & then maybe then you will appreciate the artistic work the Staples performed…!

Do you have a way where I can contact you privately? If possible. I just wanted to ask you a few questions about the gospel tapes you had uploaded on here a while back if that’s okay.

He should have gotten someone else, beside himself, to sing that song with his daughters.
