Whether it is on the wrestling ring or in movies, The Rock is very committed on the things he does.

I’m honestly pretty interested in what Johnson will do hear. It’s easy for actors to say “I’ve always been a fan” but in this case I genuinely believe it. He’s been after this movie for like 10 years, Plus it’s Black Adam. Nobody fakes being a Black Adam fan- it’s not like stepping up to Batman and acting like you’ve red the comics. Adam isn’t a big name outside of comics. Just a good character- so for the highest paid actor in the world to play him, he must genuinely like him.

When I heard Rock's voice I thought this is one of many parodies where he tells you to drink three oceans and do six million pushups every morning.

most excited for Dr. Fate! I mean Pierce f***ing Brosnan playing him! Easily the best actor in that ensemble! wish the rock would have atleast the pointy ears and iconic hairline as BA to not just look like himself like in all his other movies?!

His reasons for wanting to play the character are so superficial. In every interview (when discussing the character and the reasons for wanting to play him) it's always "he looks like me" and "he's badass" (LIKE ME. ME. ME. ME.). It's all about HIM rather than THE CHARACTER and staying true to the source material. Black Adam is a villain. Period. I despise this Venom crap they're doing to every villain. Let them be selfish and evil (Cruella is another example). You know what forget villain movies as a whole. The villains should be fleshed out in their respective hero's movies and that's it. Voldemort didnt get his own movie, he was developed throughout the Harry Potter films. Same goes for Sauron in Lord of The Rings and Joker in Dark Knight Rises. The point is, this guy clearly doesn't know jack shit about Black Adam (nor does he care) and was just looking for some way to get into the superhero business and was hoping to lead the dc franchise (alongside Superman). Oh yeah by the way the mf does not give a SHIT about Shazam. HIS OWN CHARACTER'S ARCH NEMESIS. He never mentions him or talks about him but you know what he does talk about? A pointless, random, and forced fight with Superman. The only reason Superman would be involved with Black Adam or fight him IS THROUGH SHAZAM'S LINK TO BLACK ADAM (check out the Shazam and Superman vs Black Adam animated film). If yall want an accurate Black Adam, I point you towards Injustice 2's adaptation of the character. Black Adam is infamous for being selfish and self-centered, arrogant, and he sees himself as a god and everyone else as ants. He cares about very few things. Those things being 1) His country of Kahndaq and his people 2) His family including his wife Isis and her brother Osiris 3) Himself. He's very much so against oppression due to him originally being a slave and he rules his own country and people with an iron fist (due to his protective urge). He'll help the good guys and (rarely) team up with them as long as it serves his own interests, otherwise they can all go die (in his mind). He is not an anti-hero because that would suggest the character is doing good things while using unconventional/violent methods (unlike a normal hero). That would suggest he's a hero. No. Most of his existence has been spent as a villain. PERIOD. An anti-hero is Wolverine, Punisher, Blade, Red Hood, etc. I'd compare Black Adam to Magneto or Ocean Master (Both villains or anti-villains). Also, it annoys the shit out of me the little to no effort he put into capturing the character's design and the character's accent. There are so many elements missing from his costume. It's SO BARE. No cape. No hair. No widows peak. No accent. No pointy ears. He doesn't capture the arrogance of the character. Black Adam's arrogance is visible just through his posture/pose and body language. Imagine using a thick american accent for an ancient egyptian character in 2022.
