One STRIKING moment, for me (and I will keep it quick)

Age 24, broke and depressed, going nowhere.

My friend Danny (23) asked why I never followed my dream on being on the radio.

Summer of '92, went to broadcast school and got a radio gig.

3 weeks later, Danny died from what was originally testicular cancer.

THE LESSON, which served me for 10 years in radio, 7 years of stand-up comedy and 18 years (so far) as a speaker:

"When someone believes in YOU, more than you believe in YOURSELF...listen to THEM and take action!"

As a Speaker and a Coach, my WHY is to 'BE THAT FRIEND' for everyone who crosses my path.

When Matt and Ed were talking about how life always has new challenges, as I was just having this conversation with a business owner yesterday that I shared how difficult our weekend was with our oldest son getting a DUI over the weekend and she said, “I thought your children were perfect.” And I had told her there is no such thing. We are all human and we only learn when life is giving us challenges as we “ride the roller coaster.” Thank you so much for affirming that thought process. 🙏🏻

This was one of my favorite conversations to watch and listen to. I think my favorite part of this episode was when death was mentioned and how when we reflect on our own mortality, it, ironically, bring us so much peace and joy to just be alive and brings us to the present. I had never thought of that before and it was literally instantaneous for me as the two you were talking about it, I started to be more present in my thoughts and just so joyful and grateful to be here and alive right now.
