Nice review. I look forward to your comparison between the Zero 8 and Zero 9. I would appreciate it if you could compare the ride quality, the grip (zero 8 has solid rear tire), the breaking distance and the hill climb ability. I wonder if the extra 100W motor power makes a difference. I really appreciate your scooter reviews they are some of the best I've seen. Subscribed.

At 11:52 - Jim, I had the same spill that you had- mine was a leaf covered mole hole. This and the Zero8 need careful handling off road on rough trails. I discovered that when in doubt, throttle down!

I got one of these (turbo wheel dart), one the best overall scoots out there but BE AWARE the 6 small screws that fasten the whole front assembly to the main body are simply not up to it. they screw into a 1/4'' aluminum structure inside and the small fine threaded bolts will eventually strip out the soft aluminum from all the jolting of general scooting around. I learnt this at full speed going over speed bump when the scooter literally broke in half beneath me and believe me its all over at this point. no exageration it took my sprained wrists a year to properly heal. the solution replace the small bolts with larger through bolts and nuts. eg not reliaing at all on aluminum threads.

This was an amazing review of a electric scooter ever.

Torn between the size of this and the additional performance of the Zero10.

That shake in the front doesn't seem right. I have a Zero 9 and there is no shake at any speed so maybe your head-stem is loose or something about the front wheel is unbalanced or out of alignment?

Great in-depth review as usual. I guess it's what you are used to, but front brake on the right bar is the same for a motorbike as most of your speed control is then down to your right hand. Front brake is the most effective brake due to weight transfer and is the one that brings you to an emergency stop so it's best just to get used to using it progressively rather than relying on the rear on a scooter able to do over 40kph. The rear is great for skids and slides though ;)

As for the battery indicator on e-bikes and scooters, it could also be that the battery is sagging under high load

I wonder how well this beast takes steeper inclines( compared to the Zero8). This is the best review of this attractive model. Early close ups were nice. Off road handling of the unit looks ok, but watch out for those ruts and holes! Back fender and positioning of front wires needs improving. All in all a nice package for the bucks. Thanks , Jim,for this detailed review!

Have a similar one to unbox and ride 9inch Wheels 500W. I wont be riding off road. Severly kills battery and wears out scooter. Ad mine is just for commute work teaching. Great video

You mentioned a comparison video between the Zero 8 & 9. In the meantime, which one would you recommend as a better scooter/value and how has the Zero 8 held up? About to pull the trigger before the rev rides sale ends on the Zero 8.

Thank you for your reviews, they are well done!

I lowered both levers at around 45° which how i set them up on my mountain bike with flat bars.
Easier to get at and less strain on the wrists.

The power trigger is a pleasure to use and less tiresome on long rides than the thumb version, if you also lower it to around horizontal.

Great review, any chance you will be reviewing the Zero 10 (not the 10X) in the near future?

Advantage of the Zero 9 is the split rims, making tire changes much easier.
