The coolest thing at a wedding we went to was notepads on each table at the reception.... the tables were given a number (1- 20), and the guests were encouraged to write a letter to the couple and they would open it on that anniversary... it was cool because my husband and I were sitting at Table #16 and we had just celebrated our 16 anniversary... it was really cool to think that they would be reading our words in 16 years...

I'd say for the budget page print your Excel one and stick it in that section. That way when you're out doing stuff for the wedding you can reference it quickly and jot down notes.

As for center pieces, my sister did completely edible ones for her wedding and everyone thought they were awesome. Saved her a ton of money on flowers and didn't have to worry about having all those decorations to deal with at the end of the day.

A few ideas for you! My brother and SIL had a BBQ wedding. Have a few bleach pens on hand for spillage! Also, after the ceremony, we used the bridesmaids bouquets as table decor. Then later on, the little girls at the wedding took them and played with them and we got so many adorable pictures!!! Congrats again!

Even though I've never planned a wedding, I agree with your comment about using flowers as part of the centerpieces. The last couple weddings I've attended have used greenery as the main focus of their centerpieces and it's been gorgeous.

Best wishes to you both again. Really excited for you! Our anniversary is coming up soon and the memories of all of the little details are coming back to me and my best advice is to just enjoy it all as you go along.

The best and easiest thing to do for seating chart is to draw the tables out on a poster board.. then use the skinny post-its with names on them and place them on the poster. Then you can just pick up and move them until its final! It saved me! and you can also color code the post-its (family, friends, work, etc)

I used Something Borrowed Blooms for my wedding -- they're rental silk flowers (not the plasticy-looking ones from the craft store, multiple people were shocked they weren't real) and they're stunning and only a fraction of the price of "real" flowers -- and as a bonus don't need to be watered or preserved, etc. I had an amazing experience, got tons of compliments and cannot recommend them enough!

Also, this may or may not be for you, but just to make things easier you can get courthouse married beforehand (I need to get my now-husband on my health insurance a few weeks prior to our wedding and I am SO GLAD this was one less thing to worry about on the day of). Or you can do it after. Or you could do it in NY, or on a prior trip to Texas, or whatever. It takes the pressure off in so many ways. Not for everybody, but it was perfect for us (and my husband's best man, who did the same thing and recommended it to us) and it's an option people don't always consider.

My daughter is also planning her wedding. She found out that Costco does very reasonable flower arrangements for the reception tables. Austin is one of my favorite cities!

When you go see venues, you can take some pictures so you'll be able to look at them when you get home, because if you go look at 2, 3 4 places, it could easily get confused when you get back home (hopefully, that makes sense). I would suggest having a hair appointment a few weeks before so you can make sure it works with whatever veil you'll be wearing & make sure that you like it, unless you're planning on doing your hair yourself. As for "table assignments"....I have to admit that unless I'm a direct part of the "wedding party", I've really never had much fun when I've been assigned a table to sit at. I'd rather sit with whomever I wish.

You are like me with the spreadsheets! I’m cracking up at 8 tabs. Awesome! I enjoyed this video and I’m looking forward to seeing your plans come together.

So exciting! I used this and loved it. I would recommend Wedding Wire’s seating chart on their website. You are able to categorize all your guests by group and then choose size of tables and put them on a grid in your layout. Then you drag the people! It was a great visual and super easy to use!

We also had our venue before our date. But mostly bc husband was trying to get me to agree to the same date as his best friend and I told him to ask his wife for permission. We ended up on a different date that we actually loved just as much. We also used excel to keep all the information consolidated. Since we did online RSVP, we were able to keep everything streamlined there! I love what you plan to do with those memory pages! I say add your own DIY tab to that!

Congratulations! I got engaged just a few weeks after you (October 13th) and am so excited to have a "buddy" to go through this wedding planning process with. We are also planning on a 2021 wedding, so I'll make sure to comment on any tips I learn along the way! Already was inspired by this video. As always, thanks for the great content!

No date yet... some time or place warm... still deciding on destination with reception at home or full at home wedding and the honeymoon someplace warm... so many things to decide about and it is all up in the air!

I am celebrating my 1st year anniversary this Sunday so all your wedding planning is taking me back!!! 😍 I’m so excited for you! Just a tip about the timeline work backwards, and our venue (In San Antonio) was in charge of the timeline after we arrived on site and they passed it along to the photographer and dj so everyone was on the same page.

I think having neutral decor and a colorful bridesmaids dress is nice 👍 then your bridesmaids are like a pop of color.
