Growing Trees On Mars, Part 5, The Bonsai Zone, Dec 2018

The 3D printed Curiosity rover gets assembled and I continue to make my Martian soil for planting bonsai in the mini greenhouse.
I give a quick tour of the bonsai benches on an unusual warm day near the end of December.

In Germany, we have a chocolate bar, it's called Mars. If you cut this chocolate bar in a half, it looks exactly like the stuff at 12:10 and I thougt everthing makes sense now! Than I noticed, this chocolate bar has the Name Milky Way in the USA. That's a pity. Greetings from Berlin

Making things from scratch is challenging and fun, even something as ‘ simple ‘ as soil. The fact that it is an otherworldly substance gives the project additional interest. ~ When you were stirring the mixture the fishbowl looked like Mars.

I'm glad those scientists had their priorities right. Just imagine the Rover having to go to Mars without the ability to take selfies - it would be like it didn't even happen.

That was really interesting, for a while there it was looking like apple crisp! The rover looks really cool, really nice how the parts just snap together. It was nice to see the bonsai benches again with the trees in dormancy with nice green moss. I bet the ducks and the chickens enjoyed yesterdays weather. Looking forward to the next one!
