The way I understand it is that a regular bad egg is like “updog”, the game doesn’t know what it is so it responds by turning the data into a bad egg, but when you change “updog” into something the game DOES know, like “credits”, the game sees the egg and the valid code and can do something with it, so it does. Basically, ACE is when you corrupt the game in a way that makes sense to the computer

...Sure, that somewhat explains "credit warp ACE", however it dosn't explain "add a bunch of new stuff ACE" like that time at GDQ they added a way to get the triforce and a breath of the wild ending sequence to ocarina of time.

Arbitrary Code Execution isn't as much a glitch as it is more of a manipulation of the game to manipulate and/or create more game. I've seen people recreate through ACE-TASes games inside games. It's more like an exploit. It's closer to what hackers do, actually.
