I’m an Australian beef farmer, and there are a few reasons we don’t import US beef other than quarantine considerations. One being we are a country as big as the US but with 27M people. We usually produce far more beef than we can consume, hence we export more than we import. But we don’t make aircraft, hence we import 100% of them, often from the US. It’s called trade.

I think you put your finger on it : No one in the UK, or Europe, or NZ or Australia WANTS certain American products because they are of poor quality or suitability, thats not OUR problem, thats the USA's problem. And Trump cant force people to buy these things when people dont want them. End of. Its ridiculous. If I export a thing to a certain country and that country says its not up to code I have two choices: get it up to code, or dont export to that country. Its not hard to understand Donald....
