The RTK is amazing for filmmakers. What this means is the pilot and camera operator can now do precise repeatable shots, which is game changer, together with waypoint abilities. This could potentially be a bit worrying for jib and crane operators, like the technocrane. I think Freefly has their work cut out with their Alta series. A full frame camera now is game changer for the professional cinematographer. The speed and reliability is going to go a long way in my opinion. Ferdi Wolf, the creative director from DJI has been actively involved with the latest drones from DJI, especially the Inspire. What a legend for not letting DJI release the Inspire too soon before fixing a lot of concerns 👏

As a FPV drone hobbyist who has no plan to get into professional aerial filming, my question is if the O3 Pro hardware/ technology will trickle down to their O3 air unit product line, giving us a much better nighttime flying experience thru a new camera or better yet, just a firmware update?

Great overview. I almost sold my I2, glad I didn’t.

Wow the inspire 2 fpv camera was 1/7.5? That's the smallest camera sensor I've ever heard of, that's smaller than old cheap smart phones, impressive.

Hey Ian, it just dawned on me. DJI can't increase the flight time of the Inspire 3 unless they increase the number of batteries. Which would increase weight and then take them out of certain regulatory categories. Batteries are only allowed to have a certain level of capacity to be transported on an airplane. Not being able to travel by air would be a major deal breaker for most production companies.

This is not for the regular drone aficionados. 🙄 This is an investment to make a big

The RTK allows for better precision in tight spaces during filming, but yes it would have more practical use in mapping. But then again if your going map large space the Mavic Enterprise would be better choice with a longer flight time or even fixed wing.

I had an Inspire 2…Landing gear had problems…Sent to DJI and they replaced the landing gear motor…Hope they fixed this.

Great Job Ian! Yeah this aircraft is definitely out of reach for the current hobbyist but then again it's not made for us anyway! Cheers!

They just coined the term "03 Pro" do you think they will make an 03 Pro air unit? Bumping up to a 161FOV 1/1.8 sensor would be a slight improvement.

You might want RTK for motion tracking special effects?

I have an Inspire-1. Great drone... Regarding the Inspire-3 - The price-point is way to much for what they want... I can perhaps get "Two" DJI Matrice 600pros with money left-over and that's a hexacopter .. I don't agree on how they marketed this Inspire3.. The Inspire 1 and 2 were geared for the "Pro-Consumer".. This unit is made for Pro-Commercial... Not worth it..

Not something I would consider buying. But nice review!

RTK will improve Waypoints and make the drone more stable in tight spaces. It's an add on, if you don't need it, you don't need it.

I'm somewhat disappointed that the X9 Air camera isn't cross-compatible with the Ronin 4D. I understand why the Ronin camera won't work on the Inspire 3 but I don't get why you couldn't use the X9 Air camera on the R4D rig. BTW I certainly hope that a professional cinematographer knows how to use ND Filters. I guess, you can use variable NDs.

The remote is a massive improvement! If you want to increase the screen size, you can still add a monitor. Anyone that prefers the old system has got a screw loose.

Making something new backward compatible with a 6-year-old product... Name me any device that the 2016 model and the 2023 model use the same parts.

Anyone that's complaining about the price has never rented a helicopter or rigged a dolly to get an aerial shot. Basically, they're a bunch of armchair quarterbacks. I know of two production companies that already have several Inspire 3s on pre-order. Plus one that seems to already have a bunch of them. Weird.

It's hilarious to listen to a bunch of guys flying Mini 3 Pros complain about the cost of an Inspire 3! It's like listening to a guy on a scooter talking trash about the price of a Porsche. Yeesh.

I guarantee that DJI is going to struggle to keep these in stock. Mark my words! They are showcasing it right now at NAB... (I knew I should have gone!) There's going to be a mad rush on these things!
