Pinball Ball Trough - How pinballs are collected and ejected

I had to repair the ball trough in my Gottlieb Genesis pinball machine. After fixing it, I went ahead and shot a quick video showing how it operates. Note that this is not how *all* pinball ball troughs operate--there's easily a handful of different designs that emerged over the years.

wow, this is the only video I found that shows how its done. I did some kinda crazy mechanism on my custom pinball, where the ball goes under the playfield and shoots back up lol

Hey! Sorry, for some reason my comment got deleted so I didn't see your reply.
I was dealing with startup issues on my Genesis, so when I turn it on it boots as expected. I start giving it credits, and after hitting start, it would only start flashing "00" on the top left of the screen and nothing else, like it wasn't getting enough balls in the trough I thought or a tilt was perma actuated.

After making my previous comment and turning it back on, I noticed it didn't have the initial "knock/thunk" noise after power on, which led me to start looking at fuses and checking voltages. Hours later and after aimlessly reseating the harnesses it started working again lol.

Thankfully I've beaten this game before the issues occurred, and no longer wanna go on more adventures with this pin lol.
All I've gotta do now is replace the right kicker coil with a-1496 and maybe do the ground mod to prevent any future issues for the next owner.

Doesn’t the opto ball trough system on later Williams/Bally WPC games work differently from the traditional ball trough?
