Huge respect for Remain In Light, not just the best album of 1980 but debatably the best album of the 1980s. That album was way ahead of its time.

Remain in Light is such an amazing album. Brian Eno is a complete visionary in combining electronic ambiance with talking heads new wave and popish dance music style. Also love shri camel - terry riley and if it counts, Octet - Steve Reich

The turn of a friendly card is my favorite not just of 1980 but of the entire 80s. Back In black and permanent waves are amazing, but nothing really compares to such a brilliant prog concept album

So many phenomenal albums made this list. As much as I respect Lennon, Double Fantasy doesnt cut it for me.
Shoutout to Abba, Elvis Costello, Kate Bush, Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney who all came out with gems this year, but the winner is Talking Heads by a country mile.

The top 2 couldn't have been anything else. Shoutout to "British Steel" by Judas Priest, one of the most influential metal albums.
