Beauxbatons, but in the 1830s. I think that shade of silvery blue is my absolute most favourite shade of blue in the entire world. It’s just so pretty. And that perfectly matching vine trim is just wonderful.

It also gives such fairy godmother vibes. Like she'd hide her wings and walk around the humans bringing joy to children by giving them sweets during the holidays.

I'm also in love with those sleeves.

The first thing I thought when you mentioned that the pattern is based on a dinner dress is how 1830‘s me would have definitively dipped these huge sleeves in the soup.

I intend this as a compliment b/c I love this character... the whole outfit and styling reminds me of the blue fairy in Sleeping Beauty! It's the 1830s version of Merryweather!

I have had the mental image of how perfectly those vines took the dye in the right shade and concentration pop into my head every so often for nearly a week now. They're perfect.

There is a FB group - the 19th century sewcialites - and we meet up at various locations around the UK and are not picky about the costume as long as its approximately within that century. On an outing in Whitby this year most of us were in 1890s, a couple in bustles and one in a mad 1830s dress!

Yes, I can imagine making a Halloween costume in spring! That's when I started planning mine. I'm already planning next years costume.

I LOVE your 1830s witchy costume, which could also easily be used as a costume for one of the good fairies of "Sleeping Beauty." Your dying of the vines and fabric for the trim worked out really well. Bravo!
