Gibbons Athletics Legacy Project - Part I - OUR MISSION

Part I of a series of videos focusing on Cardinal Gibbons athletics' mission, program culture, and legacy-building initiatives.

What will be your legacy? For it to be an enduring one, it should not, and cannot be a legacy focused solely on winning or personal
triumph. Our program is about more than winning championships. It’s about love.

We are blessed with a gift provided by a God who loves us even more than we can fathom! Will you embrace this gift? Will you love the work, the long hours of training when no one is watching? Will you serve and take care of the little things, so no one else has to? Will you show your teammates that you love them, that you care for them, and that regardless of the time they run, the distance they throw or jump, that they matter to you and to our program.

On that final day of the season, we will have an opportunity to put on a jersey we love, representing a school family and tradition that we love. We will share the day with those we love most and we will compete side-by-side with the teammates we love. We will love and wish the best for our competitors because we know that when they are at they are at their best we will be at ours.

In the end, it is not about the result, it’s about how well we’ve used the talents and gifts that we have been blessed to receive.
It’s our mission.
