HUF is proud to announce Nick Matthews as the first newly added am to its HUF apparel team. From Naperville, Illinois—just outside of Chicago—Nick has been traveling and skating with the HUF crew over the past year, most recently in Los Angeles and New York City.

Edit: Downtown Chicago and Evanston have some really nice street spots.

Chicago has some great spots it's just hard to get really good at skating when your from here. Everythings a battle, bad weather, Cops would cuff you, arrest you randomly, i got arrested at white wall and i'm like, this is just a random sidewalk, all while other citys guys are practicing. I got pretty good at skating but i remember being snowed in or i show up downtown and my board goes in the Chicago River, seemed like an uphill battle just to skate. You could drive to Drop In skate park but skating pyramids and stuff doesnt really help with street skating that much, it's better then nothing but not like skating the Loop, i got in damn good shape skating down there though, running from Cops i could skate and fly through the city,
