Left hand technique for bass guitar

This video shows some check ups for your left hand for efficient bass playing.

I do not intend to cover this subject completely. I also want to mention that motor learning is an individual trajectory and therefor is different for everyone. I give a general view on this subject: if you notice any pain or discomfort then check if you need to rearrange these tips to make it suitable for your hand.

Sanne, als pensionado op zoek naar info om te herbeginnen met spelen, heel bijzonder, je legt de techniek van je vingers mooi uit MAAR ik zie roestende snaren! Nee, ik heb geen aandelen, maar smeer nieuwe snaren in met een beetje WD40, mijn Bas snaren zijn 6 jaar oud, geen roest.

Hi if you get this message could you look at the base on Nantucket sleigh-ride by Mountain Felix pappalardi was the innovator of cream he was a bass player too and he also conducted the London Orchestra and you also had a band called Mountain there's a song called Nantucket sleigh-ride I think he would look like it like it you probably would need some of the sheet music to understand it may be thanks for your videos are really great.

Dit s nog goed te volgen in het Engels maar de filmpjes met Nederlandse tekst hebben sterk mijn voorkeur, ik heb niet zo'n talenknobbel. :-)
En voor bas is relatief weinig te vinden Nederlandse instructie, helaas.
Is Nederlands gesproken en Engelse ondertiteling een optie?

Hoi Sanne, met belangstelling heb ik je video gezien. Ik heb naarmate ik meer speel steeds meer last van pijn in mijn linkerpols. Als ik naar jou duimplaatsing kijk op 1.25. dan heb je jouw duim recht op de hals, terwijl je 4 vingers met name de pink op het fretboard zit. Dat snap ik niet. als ik dat doe, dan heb ik door de rotatie dat mijn duim meedraait en niet meer tegenover de wijsvinger komt te staan, maar links daarvan. Als ik mijn duim dan verplaats, dan staat mijn hand met de zijkant van mijn duim op de hals. Zoals jij ook dat glas vastpakt met je duim zo. dat herken ik niet bij mijzelf als de meest logische en natuurlijke manier. Lastig. ik heb een filmpje gemaakt van wat ik bedoel, maar kan het hier niet uploaden. het probleem is dus als ik speel zoals jij voorstelt dan staat mijn duim met de zijkant van mijn duim op de hals., wat kan ik hier aan doen? heb je een idee? thanks alvast.
