Is there a way to test a power drill battery charger without the battery? Can't find much information anywhere

what if your wall charger has  the alligator clips? one positive one negtive? I have a small small small battery charger that plugs into the wall and has the alligator clips to hook onto a battery. However, I cant tell if the battery is rejecting the charge, or if the charger is bad. So I wanted to do what you are doing here but instead of a plug at the end of the wall charger, I have alligator clips. Is it negative to negative and positive to positive?

I have a 42v output on my charger and my meter reads 41.8. It's ok? I ask because I use to hear a low buzz on the charger that I used on my 36v 6ah lithium ion battery for me electric bike. Then I was given a 10ah and is seemed to get hotter than with the 6ah. Now though there is no hum sound.
