Nobody has any clue what Leatherman is doing. At one time it was built foremost with quality and function in mind. That’s why I carry one. Now they are catering to the collectors. Garage series, different colours.

There was a tv show in Australia called The Inventors (think shark tank but less mucking about), and one of the Panellists, Diana Fisher, would always ask, "What colours does it come in, " or, more specifically "Does it come in blue?"

No way in h$ll I’m paying $275 for any multitool. Like other companies, I believe they’re throwing that crazy price out there to see if it sells. If it does, they’ll move forward with expensive tools.

Leatherman became a trading cards company and not a tools company.

I used a leatherman wave+ for a painting job last month and it was my best friend. Unscrewing light switches, old window shade brackets, opening up paint containers, etc.

What direction is this multi tool company going..?

Ok, 30 dollar huntsman, 30 Knipex combination pliers. Done. Goodbye my need for Leatherman. Don’t support Leatherman at this point.

To justify that price Leatherman, your tool should come with the following:

1. Full bit kit
2. Ratchet tool
3. Bit extension tool
4. Black mollie sheath with pockets for tools

Honestly, I'm all in on Roxon now since they have spring-loaded pliers and I can customize my own tools. I'm done paying the "Leatherman" tax.

Hi HVAC why hasn’t leatherman made any ratchet drivers? They already know 711L is making their version of a ratchet driver!! You think they would have done something about this?!

I like the looks of the original Arc a lot better.
I don't like having to be gentle with a coated knife because I'm worried about scratching it!

I want leatherman to make high visibility color options like orange or yellow. Its pretty easy to lose a leatherman if you drop it in the dark. I work in the mining industry and often have to use my leatherman in poorly lit conditions.

the Arc is already 50$ to expensive and i am a fan boy. im in the 3ed thats how i got my arc! i would not have bought it but put it in my wish list. lol thanks for the share! stay awesome.

Its way cheaper to do a coating or color option than it is to re tool your factory to make something completely new. Its a way for leatherman to meet demands and get more customers what they want while not taking a huge risk. Quite frankly its giving consumers what they want options. You now have the option of getting a pretty good cheaper option from china. Thats an option you are thankful for. I dont understand why people get mad about companies giving people options. If its not for u cool it might be for someone else. cant we just be happy for those that get what they want?

I bought a 12"×12" sheet of Multicam Black Cordura with the same 3M adhesive as the RGT Skins and made my own skins. I only paid $24 for the whole sheet instead of the $20 for a single set of skins. The ones I made myself came out great, and every time they wear out, I can make more, up to about 10 sets total.

It seems like they didn't address any of the issues with the arc. Fixing the wire cutter gap problem or rounding out the edges to make it more comfortable. For 50$ more its a pretty useless upgrade if you ask me.

This is a move with low risk for Leatherman in terms of spending minimal cash and launching something slightly different and see what happens. It’s smart to put out things with a very wide range of price points because otherwise they might miss out on selling to premium product buyers. Also makes the other products look cheaper to someone inexperienced comparing their offerings.

that arc does look nice, but here in canada it will cost with tax around 410$, same value in US doller fortunatly
In europe the leatherman arc costs 300euro wich is 330 US $
the never version is not available there yet but will cost most likely 350 Euro or almost 390 US $

I keep waiting for them to sell me something better, and they keep disappointing.

The Apple business model without the innovation and the walled garden.
Perhaps someone should gift the CEO of Leatherman a Roxon Flex or a Tom Sachs NASA Leatherman Charge +, to remind him what improvement looks like.
