Proxima b is a planet that tidally locked and orbits its red-dwarf star, Proxima Centauri. It is within the habitable zone and NASA's James Webb Space Telescope might be able to detect artificial lights from the planet.

1. That could be that the planet just produces light...
2. I remember doing research on this planet in 5th grade. They didn't know much about it but they thought it could potentially be a habitable planet. But I think they may have found a bunch of volcanos on it? It was either that or another planet a little ways away from it.

There is no life on that planet. A tidally locked planet cannot sustain life because one side will be too cold and the other one too hot. A planet needs the spinning movement to keep a good balance in the temperatures.

If it’s locked to its host star the winds on the dark side would be like tornadoes. Assuming there is an atmosphere being it’s in the habitable zone. Sounds more like a storm every night with lightning seen on the dark side. That makes more sense. Idk just something I read somewhere, not a scientist by trade.
