One of the quickest, yet most impactful deaths in any game

Elite: I have an energy weapon, powerful enough to end the life of any entity that threatens my path.
Emile: I GOT A DAMASCUS STEEL KUKRI THAT'S KILLED JUST AS MANY ELITES, LETS GO.

*The rest of Noble watched from beyond the grave, another member leaving the employ of the UNSC and joining his comrades among the angels in heaven. But before he walked through those pearly gates, brothers and sisters in arms awaiting him, Emile glanced back at Reach.*

"Give em hell, Six..." *He smiled from behind his visor, sending off the spartan with a salute.*

I'm not crying, you're crying

This is definitive "I'm taking you with me"
Imo the second best is that Marine in H4 that pulls a grenade to kill a knight.

<proceeds to send an entire Covenant cruiser to Hell as Emile laughs from beyond the grave>

Absolutely the most badass man to live

I wanna acknowledge how insanely strong Elites are. Mjolnir armor weighs half a ton and that one Elite lifts Emile with one arm like no big deal and holds him in the air until Emile stabs him in the neck.

Respect to Emile. Had he not died here he would have been the one who fights to the last breath on Lone Wolf while Noble 6 would get to be in Halo CE.

This is such an incredible death quote.

I'm ready = obviously, this means "I am ready for death." Not much to dissect.

How about you? = This question maintains and reinforces Emile's bravado and honor, because no matter what the answer would be, he either maintains his stoic death, or improves it. If the elite is ready, they died together as equal combatants. If the elite was not ready, Emile gave everything he had and was at peace, while the Elite died wishing for more.

I only saw him clean his knife for most of the game. He was still the second most badass noble team member.

After seeing Zanny quote this I started to quote this whenever I’m about to die on a game.

I wrote off this entire franchise pretty much my entire life. Recently my wife and I began to play through the entire franchise (only the FPS games though) and this moment really stood out to me quite a bit. This has to be one of the best death quotes I've heard. I regret not having given these games a chance earlier in my life.

I love how they kept that helmet weak spot next to the mandibles that HW1's Aribter died to as well.

Out of all of the spartan gens, the IIIs were some of my favourites

I still love the IIs and stuff, it's amazing seeing how desperate/dire things got at the very beginning to weaponize children, building and moulding them into living killers, essentially if you raised a kid almost entirely alongside clandestine SMUs (US's and such) and I loved how Halo legends portrayed their mental and social dissonance, being like pack animals alongside each other and like apparitions amongst those that aren't of their pack

I figure that they would be also very similar in story to Violet Evergarden considering that she conceptually was a very similar case

Thing is, the spartan IIIs hit a chord with me considering that I've associated myself with mentally different, severely mentally broken and such people (former addicts, schizophrenics, child and adult SA/R*** victims etc.) and thinking that essentially they took these shattered children and teens that have a norm of watching everything they love burn and be razed to the ground and channelling their angst and their version of "normal" to throw them into suicidal special missions

During the CIAs infancy; I believe during the Korean war, they essentially had no network or skills in clandestine work and insertion beyond what they knew from the OSS during WWII, so they would take some of our best and brightest (4.0 GPA, Olympian or higher level athletes put together with soldiering experience or volunteers) and throw them to the wolves on suicide missions, dropping them into the DMZ with all of them not coming back

The idea of taking "broken children" like my friends in their younger years, harnessing their pain and sending them into shit like that over and over and over again and knowing that many of these spartan IIIs were purely fuelled on a mix of revenge and closeness to their fellow IIIs and knowing that they found happiness in knowing that they wouldn't live long because they were addicted to the numbing focus of fighting, rather than having to sit and wallow in the emptiness of having nobody and nothing left (friends, family, a home, their happiness and reason for living)

It's fucking heartbreaking yet so absolutely captivating and I wish more series went over this kind of stuff in the same depth as Halo, like on a smaller scale there was a couple anime that did stuff like it (86, Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans) but Halo's feels more "real"
