The Predatory Piranha

The movies are arguably responsible for certain creatures receiving an exaggerated reputation. ‘Jaws’ certainly did the great white shark no favours and the 1955 film ‘Tarantula’ certainly added to the fears of many of one of the world’s largest spiders. The piranha is certainly a ferocious species of fish if aggravated but did the movie of the same name released in 1978 add fuel to the fire of its very own reputation or is it justified?
