I'm Leaving You This Lonesome Song was written and originally recorded by The Delmore Brothers back in 1933. In 1963 folk musician Mike Seeger recorded Sara and Maybelle Carter singing this song and it wasn’t released to the public until 1997. The Carters' recording of this song is often incorrectly attributed to the Carter Family.
